It can be frustrating when you or members of your family fall ill after the surgery has closed. Symptoms often begin or worsen at night or at weekends and this page aims to help you to deal effectively and safely with a few of the most common problems.

First of all, it is often worth trying to phone us for advice. If we are not open, your call will be directed to a registered nurse who will be able to give you healthcare advice.  Just call us on 326 6288.

If your problem seems to be serious, please dial 111 for an ambulance. The Order of St John provide an excellent service and this is often the safest and fastest way to get help when you are at your most unwell.

Healthline is manned continuously and provides personal advice on all health related issues. The service is staffed by qualified nurses and can help you decide on treatment at home (including doses of medicines) or suggest when it would be best to see a doctor. Call free on 0800 611 116.

If You Need to See a Doctor

If you would like to see a doctor when the surgery is closed, our out of hours services are provided by the 24 Hour Surgery which is located at 401 Madras Street. The 24 Hour Surgery offers a comprehensive range of services and unparalleled expertise in dealing with after hours care. We work there every month to ensure you get the best care possible. Unlike other organisations, the 24 Hour Surgery is owned by a not-for-profit charitable trust.
